Ringling Bros. Circus

Last Saturday Greg and I went to the circus at the Verizon Center.  It was Greg's first time and he really enjoyed it. We were able to sit in the box that Greg's work has for its employees.  It was really nice.  My favorite part was watching the gymnasts do amazing tricks.  Greg's favorite was the motorcycles.  We enjoy going out on the town when we get a chance.  D.C. has so many fun activities to offer.

3 month update...

Greg and I have been busy the past couple of months.  I started my second semester in graduate school, we moved to a new place, and we have been helping plan the Trek for this summer.

My second semester is going well, but I am having a hard time wanting to do all my assignments and papers.  I just took my midterms two weeks ago and then we moved right after that.  It was extremely busy.  I don't remember the last time that I was that busy.  I studied all day every day for two weeks.  My brain was going to explode.  The ironic thing was, I was studying all about the brain and hemorrhages, aneurisms, etc and I felt like I was going to have one myself.  When things started to cool down after midterms, I realized I have a paper due in two weeks, and from then on, it will be super busy until the end of the semester.  I will only have a one week break until summer semester begins.  I'm not sure how I feel about this.  Anyway, I am loving what I am learning and feel like I am gaining some valuable skills.

Our new place we moved to last week is just a mile from our old place.  We are now in a row house instead of an apartment.  It's been nice to have the extra space.  We are splitting the place with my sister, Michon and her husband, Ben.  It's so nice to have cheaper rent now.  Although, it is frustrating to know that even splitting rent is still more expensive than a place back in Utah. Besides the really high cost of living out here, I really love it here in the DC area.  People here are so nice and so talented.  I feel like I haven't done anything amazing with my life compared to folks out here.  Our new place is right next to the Metro (4 min walk) so it has been really nice for Greg's commute.

We absolutely love our ward.  We both just got called to be Trek specialists for the youth's summer conference.  It's been a lot of work and will continue to be.  It will be July 18-20, however I don't think either of us can go because Greg has work and I have school.  So it looks like we might just be helping out with the logistics.  Our other callings are going really well.  Greg is teaching Sunday school to the 14-16 year olds and I help plan Relief Society activities.  I have been able to finally meet many people in our church because of this calling.  I actually feel like a part of the ward now.

Greg and I went running in the park on Saturday and he threw his back out!  He was bent over and couldn't breathe.  It was scary.  I keep begging him to go to the chiropractor, but he won't do it.  It's slowly been getting better, though.  We're really enjoying the nice weather here lately.

Some great news I received last week was that Kylee and Thomas Hezseltine are coming to visit in May!! We are so excited to have friends come and visit!

All in all, things are going really well for us, and we hope they will continue to.
